We have taken the majority of LA CMT tests.  The second section of Reading Comp is all that remains. The kids are working hard and putting in a solid effort!!!!!

This week we have no Wordly Wise.  We will continue to read “Door in the Wall” as an in class assignment.

Homework will be limited because of testing.

Mastery Testing Continues

Students will be taking the Editing & Revising section of the CMT tomorrow.

**If you would like to participate in a special project for Door in the Wall, bring in a full-size bar of Ivory soap by Monday.

Wednesday 3/4/09

Students took the Direct Assessment of Writing today, and we were impressed with the great effort they all put into writing their prompts. Tomorrow’s CMT is Reading Comprehension I – we reviewed for this in class, so there is no homework tonight.

Go to bed early and enjoy a good breakfast in the morning. Come to school on time!!

Week of 3/2/2009

There will be no Wordly Wise packet this week. Our focus will be on the CMTs and students may have a short assignment each night that will get them focused for the next day’s test. The most important thing at home is for all students to get a good night’s sleep and to eat a good breakfast before coming to school. Testing will begin at 8:15 each morning so it is also important for everyone to be on time every day.

We will continue to read Door in the Wall this week. Students are encouraged to bring in a full-size bar of Ivory soap for a companion project to our novel that we will be working on in class next week. This soap often comes in multiple packs, so if you are able to bring in an extra bar for a fellow srudent, that would be most welcome.
