Today we discussed expository writing and what it takes to paint a mental picture.
The class read a short story entitled “A Game of Catch.” We will have a book chat for a grade tomorrow in class. Finish any work that you need to prepare for class tonight.
Today Unit 6 of spelling was assigned. Students are to complete pages 24, 25 and write a story for Friday.
We finished up our work with Tuck Everlasting.

In class we read aloud chapters 21-23 to the students. They continued the reading the remainder of the period. We will have a Tuck Final on Friday. Study the 10 vocabulary words.
Students began to present their book projects.
Today we looked at more reading strategies in QAR’s. There are 4 types of question and relationship strategies that were introduces to the class.
We will continue our work in Tuck Everlasting and finish it up this week.
DOL was asssigned and is due on Friday. The parts of speech, sentence corrections, analogies, and rewritten sentences will all be part of the assignment.
Because of the short week we will not be working on spelling.
Today we took out Tuck quiz and did some grammar work with nouns. The noun quiz will be tomorrow. We will review and look at the book work that was done in class.
D.O.L. was worked on in class today. It is to be completed and turned in Thurs.
Don’t forget spelling and the book project are due as well.
Today we read the remaining chapters of Tuck 14-19. The class will have a quiz on this tomorrow and needs to study the vocabulary connected to these chapters.
