Today we took the reading quiz on Tuck. This covered chapters 7-13 and the vocabulary. The class looked at nouns in the grammar book. We will do a few more activities with them and take the quiz early next week.
BOOK PROJECTS for the September reading book were assigned. The students have 7 options that match the seven multiple intelligences. They can pick any one of the projects and it is due on Thursday, October 4.
We continued reading and summarizing Tuck Everlasting. Students were introduced to 9 new vocabulary words that they will see in these chapters. They should begin studying these for Thursday’s test. Good luck to all of you who have games this afternoon!
Today we started working on Spelling Unit 4.

Write a one page story using 10 spelling words.
We also reviewed D.O.L. and handed back the
Tuck Everlasting test.
Spelling and D.O.L. will be due Friday this week. We will have our next Tuck test on Thursday. Homework should be worked on throughout the week!
Students will continue to read through chapter six. As a class we read to chapter 3 yesterday. Once they complete the reading they will answer the responding to the selection and analyzing literature questions in the literature book.
We will have a reading and vocabulary quiz Friday. STUDY!!!!!
Today we started our unit on Tuck Everlasting. The class had to copy down 8 vocabulary words and study them for the reading quiz on Friday. The quiz will be on the prologue -chapter 6.
We discussed reading strategies to monitor for meaning, create mental images, and question during the reading process.
The class was assigned a D.O.L. packet that is due on Friday. All sentences must have proofreading marks; parts of speech labeled, and be rewritten correctly.
The students took their first prompt of the year today. This will let us know where we need to focus our writing instruction over the next few weeks.
Spelling unit three will be due on Friday. Complete pages 11(1-16), 12(1-12), and 13, (1-5). Write a one-page story with ten spelling words.
In class we finished up our introduction unit to Multiple Intelligences and completed our posters.
We are almost 1/2 way through the month of September. Every student should be reading an SSR book that will be used for the monthly book project assigned at the end of the month. KEEP READING!!
We will continue to explore our MI’s. A class assignment will be to work on a MI poster that is specific to their strongest MI.
Spelling Unit 2 is due Friday.
Bring in 5-10 pictures for your MI poster. This will be checked in class on Thursday.
