Prepositions
Today was a bit crazy. Some classes did not meet today. The students that did have LA worked on spelling and started to learn a 40-word preposition song.

Adverb Taboo
Today we played adverb taboo and went over last nights adverb homework sheet.
We reviewed and answered student’s questions prior to the quiz.
Remember spelling homework is due tomorrow.
ADVERBS
Today we took a reading for information test on the short story, The Curcuit. In our second class we learned about adverbs. The kids have a worksheet to complete tonight and we will review Thurs. We will play adverb taboo and then take a quiz.
The Circuit
We read and discussed The Circuit. We had our class review and the kids will take a reading for information quiz on it Wednesday. SPelling Unit 26 was assigned Monday and is due Friday. The class must complete pages 111, 112, and numbers 1-6 on page 113. A one page written story must also be turned in.
Acton Library Poetry Contest
All sixth-grade LA students should have written a spring poem and a song about Orpheus. Since they have already done the work, it would be very easy for them to submit a poem or song to this contest. The deadline is March 24, 2007. 15 bonus points
-No more than 40 lines per poem
-Must have a title
-Name in upper right-hand corner
-Address and phone number on back
-Grade level
-No more than three entries per person
Spelling Due Thursday
Just wanted to remind everyone that there is no school on Friday. All spelling is due Thursday. Today we continued to work on the writing of our myth. We will finish rough drafts and peer/teacher conference Wednesday.
Writing a Myth
We started to plan our myth today. We will be working on this in class for the remainder of the week. All expectations and grading criteria was given to each student. Unit 25 of spelling was assigned. Pages 107,108 and 1-5 on page 109 is due Friday.
Snow Day!
Conferences went well. It was good to see all the parents. With no school today, all spelling work will be turned in on Monday. We will start our myth writing next week.
Sirens
Answer questions 1-5 on page 189 and questions 1 & 2 on page 186 of their social studies book.
Copy all the blue vocabulary words with definitions into your notebook- due Thursday.
Parent Conferences
Mrs. Kalisz will be available from 1-3 in the new fitness room near the cafeteria on Thursday. From 3:00-5:00 she will be in room 208. She will not be available from 5-7 due to a scheduling conflict.
